With her emotional yet understated
delivery that always tells a story, alto Jacqueline never fails to mesmerize
her audiences.
Jacqueline has performed in many venues throughout Louisiana, including the
many clubs in the Seville Quarter and has performed several times by personal
request for the Mayor of Pensacola.
A native of the Seattle area in the early years at Samammish High School,
Jacqueline was trained by Jack Halm, a local great who still teaches at the
Bellevue School District and at Seattle Pacific University. Jacqueline took first place for vocals at the
Lionel Hampton Jazz Competition three years in a row (1985-1988). She studied Music and Music History at
Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she developed a deep
understanding of the blues and the origins of the music she sings today. She studied voice with Cornish College of
the Arts Instructor Andrienne Wilson from October 2004 until March 2005, and
has been with Black Lab Trio since. After
taking a break from singing professionally for several years to raise her family,
Jacqueline began singing again in various clubs and competitions in Seattle and
Tacoma, including Tula’s and Thompson’s Point-of-View. Jacqueline’s influences include, Diane
Reeves, Nina Simone, Tuck and Patti, and especially her favorite: Sarah Vaughan
