With her emotional yet understated delivery that always tells a story,
alto Jacqueline never fails to mesmerize her audiences.
Jacqueline has performed in many venues throughout Louisiana, including the many clubs in the
Seville Quarter and has performed several times by personal request for the
Mayor of Pensacola.
A native of the Seattle area in the early years at Samammish High School, Jacqueline was trained by Jack Halm, a local great who
still teaches at the Bellevue School District and at Seattle Pacific University. Jacqueline took first place for vocals at the Lionel
Hampton Jazz Competition three years in a row (1985-1988). She studied
Music and Music History at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she developed a deep understanding of the blues and
the origins of the music she sings today. She studied voice with Cornish College of the Arts Instructor Andrienne Wilson from October 2004
until March 2005, and has been with Black Lab Trio since. After taking a
break from singing professionally for several years to raise her family,
Jacqueline began singing again in various clubs and competitions in Seattle and Tacoma, including Tula’s
and Thompson’s Point-of-View. Jacqueline’s influences include,
Diane Reeves, Nina Simone, Tuck and Patti, and especially her favorite:
Sarah Vaughan.
